WSD 2017 is already taking place in more 75 nations across the globe. A fantastic achievement in just our second year. In the last few weeks alone we have added some 35 new nations, as shown in the map below:

Our aim is to reach out to #unexpectedvoices everywhere.

But we can go much further. In 2017 we plan to reach out to all nations, all 195 in fact. With your donation we can. You will be investing directly in creating new events in new destinations: in Asia, Africa, South America, Central Europe - right across the globe. You'll be helping to create events for #unexpectedvoices and release ideas among a new generation of world citizens who live by sharing. Like these young students in China:

BACKGROUND

On World Speech Day 15 March 2016 there were some 200 live events in 30 nations.

World Speech Day 2016 was a day of celebrating speeches and speech making. (Anyone can host a WSD event, anyone can speak.) There were hundreds of live speaking events: from the Parliament Building in Ulaan Baatar, to a school in Palestine, to college campuses across the USA; from Kyrgyzstan to Karachi, from Buenos Aires to Borneo. The US Senate even designated 15th March as National Speech and Debate Education Day.

Many of the speeches were broadcast livestream (to the world) on the WSD channel on RINGS.TV. You can also see some of the speeches on the website: www.worldspeechday.com.

The theme for the speeches was "Thoughts for a better world". And our aim was to reach out to #unexpectedvoices everywhere.

OUR DREAM

We want WSD events in every nation on earth in 2017, all 195 of them. Imagine an unbroken chain of voices stretching around the world. Imagine the great ideas we could unleash, imagine the progress we could make through the simple power of speechmaking. From unexpected voices come remarkable ideas.
