World Scholars Cup

Hi! My name is Yasmine Reinl Laine .

I am in 8th grade at the Canggu Community School in Bali Indonesia.

I am originally French Canadian . On May 12 2018, I participated in a regional round in my hometown and the top 15 teams who got the best scores qualified for the global round of the World Scholars Cup. I was very lucky and me and my team qualified. During the regional round I won 7 medals in different subjects and topics. I won the top honor medal in challenge history, I got into the top debate teams and many more. After entering the World Scholars Cup , I realised my passion to defend causes and now possibly want to become a Lawyer when i'm older. My next step is to attend the Global Rounds of the World Scholar's Cup which will be placed in either Barcelona or Melbourne .

The World Scholar's Cup is an international team academic competition. Teams of three compete in four different events: Team Debate, Scholar's Bowl, Collaborative Writing, and Scholar's Challenge ( www.scholarscup.org). Students who qualify in regional rounds are able to attend a global round in which more than 3000 scholars from over 50 countries compete and if you pass the Global Round you could have a chance to visit Yale one of the best schools in the world this would open many doors for me.

I am super excited about having qualified for the competition, but unfortunately, it is after the summer break , and there is no way that my mom can afford to take me without your help. We will have to pay for registration, airfare, hotel, and meals.

I would be forever grateful for any help you can give me attain my dream! I worked very hard to earn this honor, and I really want to represent my city and my school at one of the global competitions. I will be needing 1,500 us dollars before June 9 other wise my dream will not come true and I will not be attending the World Scholars Cup.
