Have you ever wondered how to help communities that really need help? Do you want to help me empower myself and those in need - in one go? If your answer is yes, then there is a way! You can support me to go to the World Merit Summit 2019 in Morocco which will empower me to make connections in order to achieve my goal of enabling students to get quality education and to address education inequality problems within my community in Bangladesh in the future. You can also stay in touch with me throughout the summit and afterwards via my linkedin (https://www.linkedin.com/in/suzanasalim/) to see how the developments after the summit.

But what is the World Merit Summit?

The World Merit Summit (https://worldmerit.org/summit) will mobilize 500+ young leaders and representatives of youth-led civil organizations from across the world to support efforts towards achieving the 17 SDGs set out by United Nations (Global Goals 2030). It is our social responsibility as human beings and as global citizens to pave way for the future generation and give them proper resources to better their lives and that is exactly what I want to do after I equip myself with proper knowledge and network from this program. By donating to this cause, not only will you help me reach closer to my goals, you will also be a stakeholder in every life that I hope to change for the better.

I, Suzana Salim, believe attending this conference as an activist will give me a platform to enrich my knowledge, gain experience and represent countless youths in my home country who are driven to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).The SDG I am, and always have been, passionate about working on is Quality Education because education is the door to all other opportunities and it is one of the most effective ways to reduce poverty.

Why me?

It is a great opportunity for youth to shape our future priorities, to learn by doing, and to so build experience and skills that are crucial in any field or future career. I currently work in a social enterprise in Thailand called Wedu Global (www.weduglobal.org), an organization that tackles the need for higher education for women in developing countries through a very unique funding opportunity.

Previously I was a primary school teacher, which gives me the credibility to say that the education system needs to be changed for the better in my country. I have also helped to send 3 underprivileged children to government schools out of my savings by buying them stationery, uniforms, shoes etc (tuition fees and books were free) and successfully funded, with the help of others, a female rickshaw puller to buy her own rickshaw. I hope to do more in the future. My goal in life is to open a school for the underprivileged children and also provide vocational training to underprivileged women.

How much will it cost?

I hope to achieve a lot from the World Merit Summit and I hope you will help me gain experience by donating and helping me to achieve my goals and to change somebody's life in the future.

World Merit is sponsoring my accommodation, food and on ground transport - as I was able to fulfill the requirements by logging all the impacts I have made on the group and all the people I have impacted on their Impact App. Only the cost of the flight and the visa fees are my own which is a total of 1200 US dollars.

If you feel that my story is worth sharing and I have the potential to achieve my goals, please hit share and send the link to anybody who might donate. Your donation will change someone's life.
