In the summer of 2014, I along with 17 other students are travelling to Uzbekistan for a 28 days adventure along the Silk Route.
This trip consists of, firstly, 2 days acclimatisation and preparation, then followed by 10 days trekking in which we shall visit the world’s second largest alpine lake, glaciers and multiple mountain ranges including the Tien Shan range in Kyrgyzstan.
The third phase is the project phase. We are visiting a local village and they are willing to accommodate us for 7 days. During this time we will be helping the children with day to day activities, refurbishing facilities and classrooms and even just having a kick about with them in the evenings. This phase is so long for a reason, so that we can give something back.
Finally the Rest and Relaxation phase, this is when we shall visit the two main cities along the silk route and 'soak up the culture'.
This is the biggest thing a have ever set out to achieve, but there is always a financial cost, for this certain trip it is £3850 therefore I am asking for a small margin of that from you :-)
Thank you very much for donating, I shall bring back lots of photos and memories with me from what I truly believe will be the most exciting and life changing experience anyone can experience.
