All Animals Deserve the Chance to Live! - Project in collaboration and sustained by WEEAC Austria - Wonderland Animal Sanctuary Romania is one of the most ambitious projects in Romania, dedicated to all animals in distress, domestic or wild. In fact, this is the only project of its kind in Romania, developed by a few enthusiasts that decided to give up their old life and fully dedicate to preservation of life and rescue of animals, by creating a vegan sanctuary for animals and people who share the vegan lifestyle. The sanctuary will be always open to those who wish to find out more, to learn, to understand, to live and experience life in a natural way, in nature, in a vegan lifestyle, with respect and gratitude to all living species. The project, a refuge where life of animals is placed first, includes the acquisition of a plot of land in surface of approx. 3 – 5 ha, where the spaces for saved animals will be built using only natural materials. Each animal in the sanctuary will live free, and will have its own shelter, food and care. This project is not a shelter for strays, but a sanctuary where people live permanently together with the rescued animals, in harmony, in most natural way possible, giving all animals their due respect. At the same time, we will build a space for living, to host around 20 people (to be extended in time) for all those who wish to visit, help us and join us for shorter or longer periods of time. The project also includes the building of a small veterinarian clinic, for first aid and emergency situations, and also greenhouses and spaces for growing vegetables, orchards – all organic with no genetically modified organisms and applying permaculture knowledge and techniques. Last but not least, we wish to become fully sustainable, by promoting and using sources of alternative energy. Thus, we will build a biogas installation for heating, solar panels for electric power and a system for recycling and reusing water. As integral part of the sanctuary we wish to build a production line for organic vegan dog and cat food. What is Wonderland Animal Sanctuary Romania for animals: - Rescue of minimum 200 dogs (abandoned, strays, or from public shelters) - Rescue of stray cats or in distress - Rescue of horses – injured, in distress - Rescue of other domestic animals in distress - Rescue of at least 4 bisons from the Padurea Neagra – Bucsani public shelter for bisons, since the bisons risk being taken out from the reservation and included in the hunting domain or sacrificed - Organizing a local program for neutering dogs and cats for free to prevent future abandon - Rescue and reintegration of wild animals - Programs and educational campaigns regarding the responsibility we have for towards animals and nature - Local emergency program for injured and in distress animals What is Wonderland Animal Sanctuary Romania for people: - Volunteering within the sanctuary - Vegan camps on various themes - Camps focusing on economic sustainability - Permaculture camps - Camps for learning how to build with natural materials - A permanent program for people with addiction problems - The possibility to buy various vegan products made with natural, organic ingredients within the sanctuary - Offering support to others that wish to create communities based on fully sustainable, natural and organic vegan lifestyle This is why we need your help, of all those who understand and wish to support and join us in this project, extremely important, unique and highly beneficial for Romania, a sanctuary for animals and people alike, for life and for nature, a project by which we want to significantly improve the lives of many, no matter their species, and to provide the alternative of a better world, harmonious and aware.
