We are opening a Recovery House for women suffering from alcoholism and drug addiction. The house is located just outside of Beaufort, South Carolina, on Ladys Island. The purpose for the house is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where women struggling with addiction can learn to overcome their dependence on drugs and alcohol, and begin to live a life that is happy, joyous, and free.

As recovered addicts, we know the need for this type of house is great. There aren't any places that offer recovery in this or the surrounding area outside of inpatient (expensive!) treatment programs. We want to provide a program of recovery that is available to women of all income levels and backgrounds. Addiction does not discriminate, nor do we.

Utilizing the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, in conjunction with Bible Studies, AA meetings, and regular church attendance, women will learn how to clear the wreckage of their pasts, removing the obstacles that block them from their Higher Power and true recovery. They will learn that there IS a solution, and through intensive workshops and studies will find release from their bondage. They will see that there is hope. They will work with women who have recovered from a
seemingly hopeless set of circumstances. They will discover that all things are possible. It is only through a fellowship of this kind that we have seen women recover, and it is this path that has led us as individuals to a freedom that we hardly dared imagine possible.

We need funding for every aspect of this operation. We are single moms, trying to make possible a place for others to recover. We cannot possibly do this without help from God and the community. Our list of needs runs from the short-term goals of getting beds and furnishings, to the longer term goals of purchasing the house, enabling us to expand these services to other women.

ABOUT US:

We are  both recovered addicts who are also single moms of teenage sons.
Both of us have been blessed with the best life has to offer, and we have both been equally blessed with the terrible depths that only the alcoholic or addict can know. We know now that there IS a solution, that our lives are better for our experience, and we want to use that experience to lend hope to the next alcoholic or addict in need. That is our primary goal - to give to others that which has so freely been given to us, to offer hope when there seems to be none.
