I am Felistar Nabiryo chairman of uprise investment club.

The club was started in 2016 with a mission to raise funds to start an investment. The club was founded by seven women who wanted to improve their house income.

In June 2020, the club had accumulated savings of Us1500 dollars which we used to start a feed mill business. We mill maize, soya ,maizebran, sunflower cake, cotton cake and mix it with other additives to make poultry mash.

The business is Progressing well but we need more capital to buy machine s to start producing animal pellets.

Uganda being an agricultural country, poultry keeping and live stock keeping is one of major income generating activities. In uganda people keep poultry for eggs and meat. In urban areas poultry keeping is one of the business activities done by women on a small scale.

With new innovations, animal farming is getting modernised and farmers are getting away from using mashed feeds to pellets, which are easy to store, the animal grow faster and cleaning of animal houses is easier.

For our club to stay in business, we have to advance in business. Our business is nearly five months old but the progress is good..

1. We need 20,000 US dollars to buy machines, raw materials and marketing our business.

The pellet business is viable as both marketing and raw materials are available.

Currently in uganda, we have not more than five companies dealing in pellets. Other pellets are imported to uganda
