As a small tennis club it is very difficult to gain members and to maintain the facilities.

We have organised an event which hopefully will help gain publicity of our club and also will help us raise money. The event is a 24 hour tennis marathon where current members will take part and also possible future players wanting to take part and to join the club as everybody is welcome.

The event starts on the 1st of August at 12pm and will end the following day the 2nd of August at 12pm.

The majority of the committee members will be present at the event so if you have any questions relating to the event or our club please come along, refreshments in a form of BBQ will also be present at the event.

The money raised from the event will go towards maintenance of the courts to ensure a good quality of the courts for a foreseeable future and also for the memorial project.

Your help and donations are very much appreciated and will make a real difference, our club is one of the very few sporting facilities in Wolverley and tennis is a sport which everyone can play and enjoy. The money raised will go towards new fencing which is at the moment falling down at places, coaching equipment for kids as there is a primary school nearby with many kids interested to play tennis but we are not able to organise anything due to lack of equipment and having the right facilities such as working toilets.

If you are looking to take part in the event then there will be forms available in our tennis hut where you can fill in the times that you are able/prefer to play by ticking the time boxes, the deadline for the entries is Saturday 25th of August. Completed schedule of the tennis marathon will be displayed on Sunday 26th of August in the hut on the notice board. If you know someone who is not a member of the club then they can still sign up and if they haven`t got access to our hut then get help from any existing adult members. You can contact us for more details and information on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/WolverleyTennis?fref=ts or on our webpage http://www.wolverleytennis.org/. Alternatively you can contact us via email at [email protected] or ring the number below.

Everybody is welcome, even beginners who have never played and want to learn, and kids and people of all ages are welcome to join us. The other court will be available for other people to play tennis and to have some fun as small competitions will be organised with prizes to be won.

There also will be a competition where people can have an educated guess on how many sets and games are going to be completed during our 24 hour tennis marathon, entries can be made by purchasing a ticket at a cost of £1 from committee members. The winner will be announced after the marathon finishes on the 2nd of August and the prizes are: Who guesses the right number of sets gets Cava Jaume Serra, shower&bath gel set and a can of tennis balls. Who guesses the right number of games get a bottle of Jack Daniels, 6 bottles of Sauvignon Blanc, bottle of Prosecco and a can of tennis balls. Please see the website for full competition rules http://www.wolverleytennis.org/

The tennis club is run by volunteers and we are desperate for help to keep the club moving forward. Please do support us, any help is welcome. Wolverley has a great community and we are part of it.
