My name is Steven Hoo & I’m from Singapore.
2 years ago, on 11 October 2014, my first child was born. It was supposed to be a very happy occasion but my wife had complications during birth, resulting in her heartbeat being abnormal. Heart specialist had to be called in to assess her critical situation, she was monitored for the next 2 days, resulting in my wife & my child to be discharged 1 day later than normal delivery.
This resulted in me having to fork out close to $15,000 in cash for her stay in hospital which includes the delivery with forceps together with the heart specialist fees.
At that point of time, I was working for an Asia MNC as a senior sales specialist. I managed to work out with the hospital to pay 12 instalments of $1,250/-. But before I was to pay in full, I was dismissed from my position on 2 nd of May 2015, as a result of my 18 months’ incarceration in Changi prison, which was not revealed to the company during my interview on 5 October 2012.
I’m not sure how many of such stories have you heard, but I did faced difficulties of getting an employment after I finished serving my sentence on 10 th July 2012, that was the reason why I withheld the information when I went for the MNC’s interview. I saw it as a chance of me returning to normal society.
I was told to return all company property, pack up on the morning, 2 nd May 2015, & was told to immediately exit the building, escorted by a HR personnel.
I was very lost & I broke down on my way home.
Since losing my job in May 2015, I has had difficulties financing my loan for housing, renovation loan, study loan.
I had gotten re-employment on 27th Feb 2016 this year, but the accumulated interest for credit cards & loans have roll to an amount, that I cannot keep up, & currently I’m in the risk of facing my housing being re-possessed by the bank.
I hereby sincerely & desperately, would like appeal for help.
Till date, I have a total debt of $107,897 but I am only looking for help in 80% of my total debt so that I continue to let my family stay in our current housing.
Thanks for reading, God bless you all.
