Campaign Story
The Widow's Gift have been working with rural widows group in Pakistan for 3 months. Providing warm nutritious meals for them and their children to create a safe space to discuss the challenges of bereavement, and gain support from one another.
During the Christmas and New Year period we would like to extend our support with winter food parcels which include rice, lentils, chickpeas, dried fruits and hygiene supplies.
Our target is to reach 20 bereaved and low income families in the community including two widowers who do not attend the monthly meal support group.
£25 will provide a family of 5 with the following items:
- Flour 10kg = 275 rupees
- Rice 5kg = 650 rupees
- Lentils 500g = 60 rupees
- Chickpeas 500g = 90 rupees
- Cooking oil 3ltr = 600 rupees
- Tea 250g = 200 rupees
- Sugar 5kg = 275 rupees
- Dried fruits 1kg = 700 rupees
- 2 bars soap = 106 rupees
- Sanitiser = 50 rupees
Transport = 50 rupees per food parcel.
TOTAL: £20.79 (+20% fees = £24.95)
OUR TARGET IS TO REACH £500 TO SUPPORT 20 FAMILIES IN PAKISTAN THIS WINTER.

Update posted by Hannah Wallis at 06:35 amThanks to our donors and supporters who smashed our target of 20 food packs for widows and low income families in Singh.We reached 30 families with food support on 3rd Jan 2019 and met 4 more widows whom we invitef to our monthly meal programme.
