Michigan winters are extremely hard on 24/7 chained/outside dogs, and this winter is going to be just as harsh, if not harsher. During the winter months we receive more calls for help and go through supplies much quicker. To help as many dogs as possible in a timely matter, we round up all of our volunteers and do monthly outreaches to supply straw, high protein dog food, dog house heaters, and treats to our program dogs. On outreach days we help 300+ dogs on average. Last winter during our monthly outreaches from October 2013 to February 2014 we used 1,475 bales of straw, 7,250 pounds of food, and 1,725 long lasting treats. Straw is a natural insulator and is a real life saver to the 24/7 chained/outside dogs. The high protein food helps dogs keep their weight on as fighting to stay warm burns more calories and energy than usual. In order to do this again this year we need your help. Please consider donating and sharing this link. We would like to send a HUGE thank you in advance to all of our AMAZING followers. We wouldn't be able to do what we do if we didn't have supporters like you!! Thank you for helping make difference in the life of a 24/7 chained dog.
