Urgent! Calling All Animal Loverz
Kim Williams, a woman with a huge heart for animals is in danger of them all being homeless soon. She has had her horse, Royal Windjammer (34) since he was (6) taking him out of a dire situation where he was beaten up by other horses, scarred from injuries from jumping over machinery in the paddock to get away. Her other horse, Regal (28) came to rescue Royal again, now from his broken heart, when his longtime girlfriend Athena (29) sadly had to be put down after a long struggle with Lyme.
Nursing them to health and paying for their needs to this day, she has forfeited what others might perceive as a more comfortable, stable lifestyle that she might have had. They are truly her family and share a bond that only animal lovers would understand. “My Royal almost died a month ago; his kidneys had shut down 75% and the vet gave him less than 48 hours, but he somehow pulled himself out of it. I know he did it for me...the bond I have with that horse is something I can't even begin to explain”. However, her passion for helping animals does not end there, as Kim was in the process of turning her rental property, which she hoped to own one day, into “The Pet Pad” for animals at Windjammer Farm. Her mission is to help animals and pet owners in need through hard economic times. This would be a place to retire horses, attend "Pet Parties" to find items of need for very low cost or free, and where people can donate any animal related items: dog crates, beds, halters, blankets, food... anything and to help in supplying monetary donations for vet bills via the community.
She also had planned on opening a small Bed & Breakfast on the property that welcomes animals while people could soak up the serenity of watching horses graze in the distance or sit at the pond surrounded by the sights and sounds of wildlife. Hundreds of hours of labor brought this property almost back to its original glory. All that is coming to a screeching halt as her landlord decided to immediately sell the property due to her own financial needs. With a price too high for Kim to purchase, they may find themselves torn apart and in need of help herself! Hopes and dreams now failing, Kim and her family of 2 horses, 3 rescue dogs and 3 rescue cats are in desperate need of a financial miracle. She must find someone who would invest in the current property or find another local property to welcome her in with an entrepreneurial spirit, create "The Pet Pad" seeing the value that she brings as well.
Time is running out. With an August 1st deadline and nowhere to go it would be heartbreaking to break up this family as they would have trouble surviving without each other. Please visit www.windjammerfarm.com to see how you can help or call Kim 203-623-8223. Killingworth, CT
