My brother, Gary Ngo, 37 was rushed to the hospital last February 11.He had a stroke due to his high blood pressure. This had created a blood clot on his left brain and needed to be moved to the ICU. During the first 4 days of ICU stay, he remained clinically stable. On the 5th day, condition got worse as he had pneumonia and he was intubated. After 24hrs of being stable, tubes were removed. However on his 10th day in the ICU, he was noted with decreasing sensorium and was again intubated. They referred him to neurosurgery service for an emergency brain surgery. Operation was successful, and he's recovering. We've stayed in the hospital for more than a month. The hospital bill including doctor's fee have amounted to 1,300,000 pesos. We were able to get him discharged last March 14 from the hospital through promissory note.
