Hello everyone! I am Wilna an 18-year-old High school graduate from South Africa with a big dream to become one of the world’s best film directors. I created this funding page to raise funds for my film studies. Please support me by donating or sharing.

I am so thankful to have been accepted and enrolled for 2022 as one of 10 chosen first-year students at an Incubator Film and TV Institute in Pretoria, South Africa.

The school’s name is PALI (Performing Arts Lifestyle Institute). They help promising students to become the best in the industry and to be entrepreneurs with excellent creative skills. Their Alumni show that everyone who completed their three years there is currently working successfully in the film industry, in my country, whether it be acting, directing, cinematography, producing, etc. Some of the best in the industry will be my mentors and I will have practical experience in productions.

I am reaching out to you because I need to raise funding for the full 3-year course, preferably by 21 December 2021, to be able to meet my financial obligations for this opportunity.

I will be using the funds to pay for all the costs for the three-year course. These costs would also include my traveling to the school and the extra fees needed for working on productions, functions, educational material, competition sign-ups, etc.

I believe this would be a breakthrough opportunity for me to be able to already be in the industry while studying there because that is what this school will help me achieve to hit the ground running the moment I am done with the three years course with a resume fit for the industry.

I really want to be successful in the film industry and I understand that It will take hard work to get to that point. I have been working on my dream since 2017 by attending film school at school, working on various projects of which some are award-winning productions on School level.

I am a hard-working, self-motivated student. I finished my last school year within 7 months during the lockdown through online self-study at Passged with distinctions for all my subjects.

I'm fueled with my desire to learn from the masters of the industry to give future generations a voice of their own. I am fully bilingual and want to work on both English and Afrikaans productions.

Most children in South Africa watch American shows because it's so readily available. Afrikaans is a beautiful language that people around the world should hear, and I intend to use it to make films that inspire people with beautiful cinematography.

I want to use my film characters as role models to deal with the complex situations of growing up and who knows, maybe I'll land in Hollywood where I can create my own production company with the people who helped me along the way.

I have an Instagram @ _WilnaMari_ to share all my current creative ideas. My past productions are loaded on my YouTube channel (Link in my Instagram Bio). I directed two of the productions the one is “The Thing” which was just a school project at the beginning of my film journey and the other award-winning “Myne” as part of the Filmschool production in 2019.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and thank you for supporting my future.
