Hi there. Now, I know that I, or this fundraiser may not be as important as some of the others on here. And if you deem necessary, then feel free to go back and check the other, more important ones, out. But please, do take the time to listen. It would mean a lot. Well, I haven't given a formal introduction yet. So, here I go. Hello, I am William Romero. I was born in Louisiana, but lived in Virginia most of my life. I'm 14 at the moment, and I'll be turning 15 in May. I've come to you today to tell you a story. My story, in particular. Since I was a little boy, I've been surrounded by technology. My dad worked as an IT in the Navy for 8 and a half years, and I always looked up to being something like him. Well, to be honest, that's exactly what's happening. For about 5 years now, I've been toying with computers and learning precisely how they work. I love it. I find it, super interesting. It's just amazing. Lately, I've been looking into IT, Penetration Testing, and similar stuff. I need to ask a favor. I've been looking into it more and more and more, and I've decided on a few courses to take over the years. Being a freshman in high school, I'll only have 1 or 2 free periods to pursue the courses at school, but at home, I have almost unlimited time! I've settled on a bundle of certifications that will definitely help me out as soon as I get into the work force. I'm looking at A+, Network+, and Security+. These three can be bundled together for about $800. The other two are OSCP (from the creators of Kali Linux), and eCPPT (eLearnSecurity). OSCP costs rougly $1200, and eCPPT costs exactly $999. There are a few courses other than these that I'd like to chase after, but I won't push my luck, because most likely, this won't even reach it's funding goal. Mainly because of all the other charities and fundraisers that are 40x more important than mine. Anyways, those are the courses/certifications that I'll be trying to catch in the next few years. I'm currently studying the PTS v3 course from eLearnSecurity, but after that, I have no other means of funding my career. I come from a poor family, so paying out of pocket isn't an option. Well, thank you. I know I don't seem as important as some of the others, and I may look like a stupid kid chasing after a stupid dream, but whatever the case may be. This is my dream. This is my life. This, is what I want to do. Thank you. Have a wonderful day. Anything would help.
