Wild Dolphins 2017 – Your chance to raise awareness!

Hunts and captures, noise pollution, plastic waste, food scarcity, global warming – there is a lot that dolphins and whales have to face throughout their habitat. Do you feel that more people need to be made aware of these challenges and their causes? Do you agree that children should get the opportunity to learn about the social, intelligent mammals in the world's oceans and express their own thoughts about them? This is your chance to make it possible! 5€ fund an arts and crafts kit for our children's workshops, 20€ can print and display one of their new media art works about captivity and pollution, 50€ can rent a laptop and equipment for presenting underwater acoustics to school teachers, 150€ funds a film screening of Saving Luna, Racing Extinction or Blackfish.

In the heart of Frankfurt, Germany, our three-day multimedia event Wild Dolphins ("Wilde Delfine") will bring both information and excitement to listeners, cinemagoers, inquirers, and admirers. Right next to the Nordwestzentrum mall, 9 floors will host presentations, films, workshops, art and photo exhibitions, as well as specific theme areas. These illustrate where dolphins live, how they communicate, why their habitat and their future is in danger, and why the United Nations have even attributed "non-human culture" to them. We believe that the German community needs to learn more about these topics, given that Germany still has two active dolphinaria, that wild dolphins and porpoises have been known off its Baltic coast, but that the knowledge on dolphins and whales in the world's oceans is poor. Being a young and ambitious NGO in Frankfurt, The Dolphin's Voice aims to reach as many people as possible to raise awareness and spark interest in the above topics - with your help! This dedicated fundraiser focuses on what children and teachers can learn and explore at our event. In art and information workshops they will create new media art about dolphin captivity or use plastic waste to build a sculpture that highlights the problem of pollution. In a theme area on underwater acoustics they can put on headphones and listen to the chirps, whistles, and buzzes of whales and the disturbing effects of seismic testing. This will be complemented by film screenings of documentaries with Q&A sessions by experts. Please support us to make Wild Dolphins a reality! Every bit helps!
