My students need to be able to move while they learn!

My Students

My students come from all over the world- literally. We have 8 different languages spoken within my class alone! Many of my kindergarteners have never attended pre-school or daycare, so our room is the first place they will be away from their families for an exteded period of time each day.

Although we all come from different backgrounds, we speak the language of kindergarten- kindness, generosity and excited to learn everything!

Many of my students have to overcome educational obstacles and I want to provide them with the most comfortable, child friendly environment possible. I want for them to feel successful, be successful, so that they can be our future leaders!

My Project

It is innate for children to move as they learn. I want to provide my students with ample opportunities to use their kinesthetic learning.

As a child is moving, they are naturally building a rhythm to their learning.

Learning in isolation and stillness is not natural, most children learn better with movement and conversation. I am hoping that by integrating the wobble chairs, floor cushions, and floor chairs into our day, students will feel at ease and comfortable.

I believe the furniture I am asking for, lends itself natural movement and a spirit of building community. When a child feels safe, they can take risks and learn.
