In 2015 , it hits me to see many people had suffered from Zika Virus also referred as yellow fever. By researching thoroughly, I've realized how much lives had costs due to mosquito borne diseases, defects of new born babies & even deaths. I wanted to be a part of providing protection to the community so I came up with an effective natural ingredient product with low price called "Defender Kids" now selling in Harvey Norman, Aeon Wellness , Big Pharmacy, Babymama, Manjaku, Parkson, AA pharmacy, Home Pro, pharmacies in Malaysia. Why kids? The rates of illnesses caused by mosquitoes that occurred in people younger than 18 and that became "neuroinvasive": that is, causing encephalitis (inflammation of the brain), meningitis (inflammation of the covering of the brain and spinal cord), paralysis, or death. Children is our future.

More than 1 million people around the world die from mosquito-borne diseases every year, and hundreds of millions more experience pain and suffering from illnesses transmitted by mosquitoes. In 2015 malaria alone caused 438 000 deaths according to WHO (World Health Organisation).

Mosquito-borne diseases have been increasing at an alarming rate over the past decades. In Malaysia, one finds several important mosquito-borne diseases such as :

Dengue Fever - commonly spread via the Aedes aegypti mosquito. Dengue fever is usually found in tropical, and subtropical climates, and is present in urban and semi-urban areas, where both human and mosquito activity is high.

Zika Virus Infection - an emerging mosquito-borne diseases that was first identified in rhesus monkeys through a monitoring network of sylvatic yellow fever at Uganda in 1947. Zika virus was subsequently identified in humans in 1952. Outbreaks of Zika virus infection have been recorded in Africa, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific.

Malaria - caused by parasitic protozoa that are transmitted through female Anophelesmosquitoes. Around 3.2 billion people or almost half the world’s population are at risk of malaria, with 85% of reported malaria cases in 2015 came from sub-saharan Africa.

Chikungunya Infection - common symptoms of chikungunya infection include fever and joint pain. Other symptoms may include headache, muscle pain, joint swelling, or rash. Chikungunya disease rarely results in death, but the symptoms can be severe and disabling.

Japanese Encephalitis (JE) Infection - a serious infection caused by the Japanese encephalitis virus, that commonly occurs in the rural parts of Asia. Most JE infections are mild (fever and headache) or without apparent symptoms, but approximately 1 in 250 infections results in severe clinical illness.

Mosquito surveillance and control programs are the most effective way of detecting and controlling mosquito-borne diseases, but these programs are less effective without an aware and well-informed general public. In 2014 questionnaire has been used to evaluate the extent of awareness of basic mosquito biology and mosquito-borne diseases in 6 villages. A total of 1,012 individuals responded to the questionnaire, more than 60% of the respondents were familiar with basic mosquito biology and practiced personal protection against mosquito bites, and the association was statistically significant (P = 0.02). However, the majority of the respondents had limited knowledge on mosquito-borne diseases, and this varied significantly among the 3 ethnic groups (P = 0.0001).

This campaign serves the purpose to improve and intensify public health education outreach to encourage community participation in vector control programs, promote awareness, funds in R&D on different effective natural mosquito product categories to keep a safer environment for kids & adults as well. The funds will include filming families that have suffered from mosquito borne diseases to deliver a message to the world

I believe it is our duty to keep our families & each other safe, alone I do not have the power to do so but together we could make a difference & save someone's life.
