About

Hello fellow Browns fans! Well, the time has come again to embark on yet another disaster of a season for our hapless favorite football team. There is no telling what they have in store for us this year, yet as the first two weeks have unfolded, it all still feels very familiar.

Almost 5 years ago I launched the Kickstarter for the Why Is Daddy Sad On Sunday? coloring book which has been successful beyond my wildest imagination, being featured on Sportscenter, in the pages of Sports Illustrated and mentioned in the New York Times. That coloring book covered all three major professional sports teams in Cleveland (Browns, Indians & Cavs). Since the book’s publication, the Cavs have broken the 50+ year Cleveland championship curse by winning quite possibly the greatest Finals in NBA history. In the same calendar year, the Indians were a rain delay away from winning their first World Series in almost 70 years and have remained in contention every year since. However, there is one Cleveland team who still can’t quite get it together.

I’ve been asked a lot to create a coloring book of disappointing moments solely for the Browns, however I didn’t want to just reuse the material from the first book and there isn’t enough new material to justify it’s own book. So what I would like to do is create a new coloring book of disappointing moments in Browns history featuring all 9 moments from the original book plus an additional 9 new moments. The 9 new moments will be from the entire history of the team, but with more of an emphasis on what has happened since the first book was published in 2014. I believe this version will better tell the full story of the futility of the franchise while also providing an up-to-date history.

Some of the moments included will be classics such as Red Right 88, The Drive & The Fumble; plus newer moments like the Johnny Manziel saga, the 0-16 season, and the Bottlegate game. I’m open to any ideas for top new disappointing moments you think should be included so feel free to message me through Kickstarter.

The format of the book will be the same as the original book, which you can look at here:

There are great rewards like getting your name in the book (and every subsequent printing), the opportunity to have your image immortalized in a coloring page of your choice, and a lot more! Lastly, I am trying to get it done in time for Christmas, so you can cheer up the depressed Browns fan in your life.

Thanks for looking, please share this, and Go Browns!

Risks and challenges

As with any project, there are potential risks. I am creating all of the copy and artwork, so if something happens to me, there could be problems. About half of the content is completed now and I plan on having the rest done before the funding deadline. Most likely, any problem will only result in a delay in the publication, but there should be no reason you won’t have it well before Christmas. Overall, this project should go smoothly and is relatively low risk.
