Campaign Story
This is the story of Fraserburg Academy. 4 years ago the Department of Education decided to amalgamate schools in the Karoo. A few parents came together and decided to set up a school so that their children can have quality education. With a borrowed building and 1 teachers who lost their job due to amalgamation and another teacher that was allready retired, Fraserburg Academy came into being. The school started with 12 learners and many challenges. Meanwhile, Fraserburg Academy has grown to 25 learners, 4 teachers and still many challenges. One of the challenges is transport. Currently, Fraserburg Academy needs a taxi to transport children either to sports events, tennis training or to high school. Majority of the learners go to Oudtshoorn for their high school career and therefore driving opportunities home is a problem as they are such a large number of learners. Fraserburg Academy would like to buy a taxi for the learners, but we need financial assistance as such a bus is quite expensive.
