Wheelchair Ramp

My name is Stephanie and I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. I am a 48 year old mother of two. I have Mutliple Sclerosis which has been worsening every year. I am now falling 3-4 times per week in my home. My doctor is prescribing a power wheelchair. My insurance will cover the power wheelchair but only if I have a wheelchair ramp outdoors to get in and out of the house. The insurance will not pay for the ramp. I can no longer work and am on disability so I do not have money for the ramp. My occupational therapist has helped to raise $1500.00 from 3 community agencies and now we have exhausted those resources. We need a total of $3125.00 to have the proper ramp built to code. So we need another $1625.00 by the beginning of August, 2013 or we lose the community funding that has already been promised. 

The ramp will allow me to get in and out of the house independently with the power wheelchair, so I can then use the wheelchair to get to the doctor, the store, to church and to the park near my home. Currently I am relying on friends and family for transportation and the ramp will allow me much greater safety and independence.
