Your contribution to our winter crowdfunding campaign isn't just a donation; it's an investment in accountability. We’ve invested in looking into new ways to serve our readers better. We asked our community what they’d like to see more of and the content they look for the most.

The Shift has fearlessly exposed corruption for six years, spotlighted injustice, and held the powerful accountable. Now, it's time for us to aim higher and be bolder, and we're calling on you to help us make this happen. This is your project as much as ours, and you’ve supported us throughout.

We’ve grown into more than just a newsroom. We’ve faced legal battles, insults, and discrediting campaigns, but thanks to our growing reader community, we stand resilient and more determined than ever. We’re standing our ground, ready to do much more.

With your support, we will expand our website, grow our team, and enhance our investigative capacity. We want to add new features and provide more diverse and compelling content.

We want to implement the latest technology to provide interactive features. Our readers deserve the best possible experience.

We’ve led investigations into the country’s biggest scandals, such as the Electrogas project and the Hospitals concession deal. In the six years we’ve been around, our stories have contributed to police investigations and investigations by the National Audit Office (NAO), the Commissioner of Standards in Public Life and the European Commission.

We’ve earned international acclaim, and our investigation into Malta’s connections to Qatar was shortlisted for the European Commission’s 2023 edition of the Daphne Caruana Galizia Prize for Journalism. Our conference in October drew stellar panellists and an engaged audience, revealing an appetite for discussion and knowledge.

Knowledge. That crucial element of empowerment that those in power don’t want us to have and why the government uses tactics designed to thwart our work and shut us down. But our reader community's unparalleled support has ensured they don’t get away with it. Our reader support is why we can fight - and win - the 40+ Freedom of Information appeals, some of them in court.

The Shift remains your project, your news portal. Invest in it. Let's push the boundaries and expand the stories that truly matter. Together.
