Have you ever lost someone to cancer?

Here is our dear friend, Kenneth Bianes, called by family and friends as Ken.

He took on the task of being a working student to help his family and to send him to school. He's an only child so his family depends on Ken alone.

It all started when he ocassionally felt an extreme headache and nosebleeding but he just shrugged it off since his main concern is to take care of his parents and to earn a living for them. Besides, he reasoned out that "baka sa init lang ng panahon". Then one night, the bleeding just wouldn't stop. He was rushed to the hospital and his doctor advised him to undergo biopsy. Biopsy means getting a portion of tissue from an affected area in your body for tests. Without enough money on hand, he decided to have the biopsy WITHOUT any anesthesia.

April 4, 2015. The most heartbreaking day of his life — he was diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Cancer.

He underwent a lot of Chemo sessions and after 7 months, he was declared cancer- free.

Aug 12, 2016. Malignant cells are back... And this time, they are more agressive. :(

He had to work even when his condition was getting worse just to make ends meet. He used to wake up before the sun rises to travel to the office even when he no longer has the energy for it. As each day goes by, his 5-day work shift was reduced to a 2-day homebased job since the pain is getting way beyond what he can bear.

Ken has so much dreams for his life and his family. After college, he wanted to go back to high school alma mater to teach History and impart what he has learned to the young people. He dreams of giving his parents a comfortable life and sustain their needs. That's enough for him.

We are doing this to make Ken's continuous medication possible. He's done with first and second chemo, and we need more support for upcoming chemos. We're doing this to give Ken a hope. For his family. For us - because we don't want to lose Ken to cancer.

Please help us save Ken. Help us build bridges for his dreams to come true. Sharing is caring, helping is loving. ❤
