La vida es una lucha constante ...

El 10 de septiembre de 2020, Alexis, mi esposa, sufrió un accidente cerebrovascular subaracnoideo casi fatal. -90% de posibilidades de no salir de la cirugía- fueron las palabras del médico en la noche de ese lluvioso jueves de septiembre. El Dr. Ernesto Ledezma salvó a mi esposa. ¡Alexis lo superó! También superó el vasoespasmo 7 días después. Un mes después, salió del hospital y luego se enfrentó a un nuevo desafío, las terapias. Sin poder hablar mucho, sin poder moverse mucho, nunca faltó a una terapia, nunca dejó de luchar. Debo decir que lo que admiro de ella es su empuje, sus ganas de salir adelante.

Nos ayudaste MUCHO la última vez, y por eso, Alexis está mejorando cada día ... y eso es porque nunca se rindió (y sé que nunca lo hará).

En enero de 2021, tuvieron que realizar una craneoplastia para reconstruir su cráneo que le habían quitado para permitir que su cerebro se hinchara. El procedimiento fue perfecto y por recomendación médica, volvió a colocar su propio cráneo, sí, el de ella, su propio hueso. El cráneo había sido conservado impecablemente en el hospital (Gracias Hospital Puerta de Hierro por esto). La cirugía fue un éxito. Y esto motivó a Alexis aún más, ya que se sintió "completa" de nuevo.

En marzo de 2021, sucedió algo, una bacteria hizo un pequeño agujero en la piel de la cabeza de Alexis. Por suerte, y gracias a la buena y rápida actuación de los médicos, se pudo mantener el cráneo, y Alexis lo superó nuevamente.

Hoy tenemos un nuevo desafío ... después de 8 meses, su hueso falló ... sí, su propio hueso comenzó a absorberse. Según estudios, esto solo ocurre en el 3% de los casos, y si antes los malos pronósticos jugaban a nuestro favor, hoy los buenos pronósticos jugaron en nuestra contra. Esto significa que debemos volver a operar Alexis. Ahora, no será su hueso, sino una prótesis de PEEK, que es el material recomendado para este tipo de cirugía.

El problema, el seguro NUNCA se ocupó del incidente de Alexis, ni por el ictus, ni por las complicaciones posteriores. Esto ya nos tiene en una situación económica muy complicada, todavía con deudas por los últimos procedimientos, y ahora con la necesidad de realizar esta nueva cirugía. Por eso solicitamos su apoyo.

Life is a constant struggle...

On September 10, 2020, Alexis, my wife suffered a near-fatal subarachnoid stroke. -90% chance of not getting out of surgery- were the doctor's words on the night of that rainy Thursday in September. Dr. Ernesto Ledezma saved my wife. Alexis overcame it! She also overcame vasospasm 7 days after. A month later, she left the hospital, and then she faced a new challenge, therapies. Without being able to talk much, without being able to move much, she never missed one therapy, she has never stopped fighting. I must say that what I admire about her, is her drive, her desire to get ahead.

You helped us a LOT last time, and because of that, Alexis is getting better every day ... and that's because she's never given up (and I know she never will).

In January 2021, they had to do a cranioplasty, to reconstruct her skull that had been removed to allow her brain to swell. The procedure was perfect and on medical recommendation, she put her own skull back on, yes, hers, her own bone. The skull had been impeccably preserved in the hospital (Thank you Puerta de Hierro Hospital for this). The surgery was a success. And this motivated Alexis even more, as she felt "complete" again.

In March 2021, something happened, a bacterium made a small hole in the skin of Alexis's head. Luckily, and due to the good and quick action of the doctors, the skull could be maintained, and Alexis got over it again.

Today we have a new challenge ... after 8 months, her bone failed ... yes, her own bone began to absorb. According to studies, this only happens in 3% of the cases, and if before the bad forecasts played in our favour, today the good forecasts played against us. This means that we must re-operate Alexis. Now, it will not be her bone, but a PEEK prosthesis, which is the recommended material for this type of surgery.

The problem, the insurance NEVER took care of the Alexis incident, neither for the stroke, nor for the complications afterwards. This already has us in a very complicated economic situation, still with debts for the latest procedures, and now with the need to perform this new surgery. This is why we request her support.
