We need your help for Judith’s X-linked Dystonia-Parkinsonism (XDP) DBS Operation

I am Aileen Tecson, a friend, and I am writing this campaign for my friend Judith.

Judith Ignacio is currently residing in the Philippines and was diagnosed with X-linked Dystonia-Parkinsonism (XDP) in 2017. XDP is a rare x-linked progressive movement disorder (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-linked_dystonia_pa...) affecting mostly males, but she's one of the many females diagnosed.

She has 2 brothers that were diagnosed with this condition. The youngest brother passed away due to complications from X-linked Dystonia Parkinsonism (XDP). Fortunately, her elder brother had sought medical care.

She was scheduled to have a sponsored operation in Taiwan in March 2020, but the pandemic set in, and all travel to Taiwan was canceled. Until now, what seemed to be my hope has been on hold, and with each second that passes, her condition is worsening. She is now having difficulty in eating, talking, and performing activities of daily living.

Her only option now is to have the procedure done in the Philippines. The cost of the procedure at Makati Medical City (only the top 3 premier hospitals in the Philippines can perform DBS) is Philippine peso 2.5M ($52,083) for Deep Brain Stimulator (DBS).

She is a mother of 4 boys (4-year-old, 10-year-old, 12-year-old, and 21 years old )
