We need your generous heart: Help us fight Covid-19 and save my mother’s life

On the second week of September, my mother had an on and off fever( max temp. of 39C with cough, decrease in appetite, and body weakness. We managed her symptoms at home. On September 15, 2021, we gave her oxygen support provided by our kind-hearted neighbor. However, due to the persistence of body malaise and heavy breaths, we rushed her to Sogod District Hospital for management. Upon arrival to the hospital, my mother was noted to be disoriented and drowsy, in distress and vital signs were deteriorating. A Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) was done and turned out positive. We were advised by the resident doctor to transfer to a city hospital. We tried to contact Sotto memorial hospital but it was full. We contacted a couple more hospitals but they are all full. Luckily we knew someone who has a known Doctor from Cebu Doctor's Hospital and was able to secure us an isolation room. Upon arrival to the ER, Stat RTPCR was done and my mother was confirmed to be positive with COVID-19. After several tests and laboratory workup, my mother was diagnosed with COVID-19 with critical pneumonia and Acute Kidney Injury. My mother also has comorbidities such as Type 2 DM requiring insulin and Hypertension. Looking at my mother intubated and attached to a mechanical ventilator, I was devastated and uneasy. FBC and NGT were inserted. She was placed to an isolation room with my brother.

For almost a month now, my mother is still fighting for her life. She is doing her best to live and She promised that she won't give up without a fight. So as we, but we need help. We are now transferred to a regular room but she is still on a mechanical ventilator with NGT. She is still slowly recovering from pneumonia. We are considering transferring her to Sotto memorial hospital to access help from the MALASAKIT foundation. Each day we spent no less than 10,000 on the medication alone plus the hospital continuously asking for a downpayment and several lab tests. Every day our bill is increasing and we have sold all the properties we have. My father was already dead and we don't want to lose our mother as well. As of October 11, 2021, we have a total bill of 895,465.72 less the deposit and partial payment, we are required to pay the net amount of 559,388.72. We can't afford to buy my mother's medicine and the lab test requested by the doctor or even pay for the hospital bill. I, We, humbly ask for your help fund my mother's medicine and other expenses needed daily for her fast recovery. Any amount will do.
