In March 2017, the Dunkirk Refugee Camp burned down displacing human beings once again. Families have moved from cold wooden huts, to the woods no more than 100 metres away where they live in tents and muddy conditions.
Families at the camp had spent time building a home, children built friendships at the children's centre and there was a sense of routine and community. And once again, after the fire these innocent people have been displaced.
Please spend some time looking at the photos and looking at the conditions children are living in.
We are travelling back to Dunkirk on the August bank holiday weekend where we will spend time in an extremely volatile and scary situation. The CRS harass refugees daily, spray their tents and sleeping bags with water so they move on, blankets as scarce and food is running low. There is a serious case of media fatigue, the news are not reporting this horrific situation. So we need your help! Please donate, even £1, we will take the money and we will spend it directly on the people who need it, no over heads, everything will go to them.
We are continuing to support the charity Help Refugees, last year they ran a 'Choose Love' t-shirt campaign and this will be our fund raising focus. Go online www.helprefugees.org to buy your t-shirt and pledge your support for this horrendous refugee crisis. It is not over, thousands of people are stuck and in need. People who have fled war torn countries or have left their homes for fear of persecution need our help.
Come on The North! Let's pull together and show the world we care!
Thanks for all your support so far. Choose Love and spread the word!
