Waxing 4 All

Goal: Raise money to start my own Esthetician business which focuses on full face and full body waxing. I've been an Esthetician for six years, and I have mastered the art of waxing. I currently rent a small 120 square feet studio located in the city of Torrance, CA. I have been working out of this studio for a little over a year, and business has been growing at a rate of 20 percent every month. I have a five star rating on Yelp, and I love what I do.

My husband and I recently attempted to expand our business. We found a nice stand alone retail location in a great neighborhood. The locations current tenant was agreed to sub-lease this space to us. Long story short, we invested a lot of our retirement money into this location prior to having an agreement to sublease by the landlord. The current tenant was evicted, and we were out of our $20,000 of retirement money. We are still attempting to recover some of this money, but the former tenant is eluding us and our calls.

This really made us think, maybe we are not meant to expand just yet. After talking with my husband, who has been my biggest supporter, we decided to try again. This brings us to now, we are in the process of signing a lease for our stand alone retail location. We will need to make some improvements to the existing space, to make it compliant for waxing.
