Watermelodie will get back in the water soon, in the meantime…

Watermelodie was unfortunately involved in a serious car accident last Sunday, June 6th, in which she sustained several injuries, including a major spinal fracture. After being hospitalized for 10 days, and with the intervention of several doctors, a neurosurgeon reconstructed her spine with titanium plates and screws. Besides the injuries she endured, she realized during this most difficult time that her insurance policy was capped at a grossly inadequate amount.

The average costs of this sort of surgical procedure can range between USD 70k to 120k, which led her having to incur very significantly out-of-pocket expenditures for the surgery itself, and going forward for rehabilitation and physical therapy.

I started this campaign to make it easier for those willing and able to help her face these challenging times. As her sister, I can tell you she is profoundly grateful and touched by all the support she has already received so far, as well as all the many words of encouragement, thoughts, and prayers coming from you all. We are all very optimistic about her recovery and looking forward to having her back on track! In the meantime, we thank you all for your love, best wishes, and support.
