Friends - we have hit a crisis and desperately need help!
Our well is “weak”. That means it is not completely dry but we don’t have enough water to run a house. We currently have 21 puppies, 24 dogs, 9 cats, a donkey and 5 cows.
We have had to purchase a portable water tank for our truck just to be able to water our dogs once a day. We typically water twice a day and provide pools for our dogs to stay cool in our 100+ temperatures. If we can’t provide pools our dogs bathe in their drinking water which causes health issues.
The permanent solution is we need a new well. 500 feet at $19 per foot just for the hole. We will need a pump, electricity to the pump and a compression tank to push the water out to all the faucets for dogs. I’ll share the official estimate when we get it but conversationally we are looking at at least $25000.
We are also looking at a large storage tank to draw from until we can get a well and for emergencies after we have the well. These tanks cost on average $150 per gallon not including install.
Starting today we will need to make a daily run into town to get 300 gallons of water that will only cover drinking water for our dogs. We are also collecting milk jugs of water from local citizens that are able to help. We are hoping these steps will allow for our current well to support our cows, donkey and cats.
Please, every penny will help. Having a reliable water source is something these animals need to survive, especially in this heat.
