Abuku city is a community in Sagbama Local Government Area in Bayelsa State, Nigeria.
This community is located in the hinterland of the Niger Delta oil rich rivers bounded by rich rainforest with a characteristic mangrove swamp, its typically a fishing and farming settlement that is host to two multinational oil exploration companies Shell Bp and Chevron corporation.
Stakeholders in nthe multinational was called upon to provide my community and its surrounding villages ascess to drinkable pipe borne water after conducting feasibility studies its tens years nothing has be done to better the life of my people in terms of ascess to potable water
Cisterns are constructed and water is obtained from rain water running off the roof through a network of pipes sometimes water is available to memeber of this community through a naturally occurring well -in the dry months of the year children and women walk to a stream infested with guinea worm to drink and use for numerous domestic function besides feeding of livestock.
The occurence of Guinea worm and other water borne diseases has spiralled over the last few months and quite a huge number of people predominantly children and women are worst hit by this life threatening situation.
We require your advice, encouragement, assistance feel free to send your advice, your and assistance to us in your mails we need them so that my people would understand they have not been forgotten.
