Fetching water for households is one of the hardest tasks women in rural areas have to perform. From the morning to the evening, they cover distances to find this precious liquid. At the pump or at the well, they have to display energy to have water. Sometimes, scarcity of water leads to fights.
Fetching water in these conditions also prevents women from undertaking incomes generating activities which could help them leave the vicious circle of poverty.I am on this platform to raise fund in order to help women in a rural community (Baskoure) in Burkina Faso have a water pump powered by solar energy. In the long run, activities such as gardening (helping women to have fresh vegetables for their sauces), pigsty and pisciculture could be developed around this water point. All these activities will surely help these brave ladies have sources of income to face the needs of their families (school fees of children, healthcare, clothing, getting appropriate housing, etc..)
