My school is going on a trip to Washington D.C. this May. It's being done through the Close Up Foundation (go to closeup.org to learn more), where my class (and hopefully me) will be able to see first hand how our government works on a day to day basis. We will also go to Philadelphia to see where the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution were written and signed during our country's first years. During our stay in D.C. we will get to meet senators and congressmen who work in our nation's capital representing our fifty states. I find this subject especially fascinating, so I would hate to miss out on this incredible opportunity. I live with a single mom and we can't afford this trip, so any help will be greatly appreciated.
