Campaign Story
Just like any other teenager, Ruben Mocke was excited to start the dreams he has always had since he was a little boy...
Carefree dreams in a world waiting to be explored... (Ruben just completed high school in December 2019)
He discovered a lump on his shoulder, thought to be a Lipoma after several scans and research.
The fast growing lump was removed and the surgeon said the mass was a different color from what he has seen before. It was sent away to laboratories in the USA for further testing.
Ruben's world was shattered when the results came back and he was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma cancer at the tender age of 17. This is an EXTREMELY rare type of Bone Cancer (with less than 1000 US cases per year).
Ruben is starting an aggressive and intense bi-weekly chemotherapy treatment soon, that will last for 14 months. Yes, not a typo, 14 months. He also needs at least one more surgery to remove more tissue, and the amount of expensive tests he has to do, is extreme.
Ruben, his brother, and his mom immigrated from South Africa to Panama a bit more than a year ago. Ruben's single parent mom needs all the financial help she can get to help Ruben get through all of this.
Please support Ruben in his fight against cancer, and help him build his dreams again. Your help and prayers are very much needed and appreciated.
