Our dear friend and brother, Ariel Cook, who has been a humble and faithful servant to the Poriya Ilit community was recently diagnosed with stage IV esophageal cancer. As a community, we are seeking financial support for living and medical expenses related to treatments and restoration of his health. He is a man of great faith and believes that God is taking him on this journey for a result that will glorify His purposes.
Our friend Ariel has had a great love for the water and has been a seasoned sea captain for nearly his entire life. He sacrificed his love for the seafaring life in order to serve and bless the people of Israel. During his time in Israel, he has volunteered well over thousands of hours of service. He especially has a heart for helping widows and meeting their needs has been a special focus. Ariel is always so quick to help others no matter what the task, both big and small, with no expectation of receiving anything in return. He is a very loving and selfless person, never asking for help. Because he has given so much to so many, we have it on our hearts that now is the time to give back and to give in an abundance.
“If someone among you is needy, one of your brothers, in any of your towns in your land which Adonai your God is giving you, you are not to harden your heart or shut your hand from giving to your needy brother. No, you must open your hand to him and lend him enough to meet his need and enable him to obtain what he wants.” -Deuteronomy 15:7-8
Ariel, and his beloved wife, Cindy, have lived in Israel for the past 8 years. During those years, they have moved 65+ times, serving a number of homes, guest houses, ministries and people. They have never had a place to call their own. It is our hope to not only contribute to the aid of medical expenses, but also to help them to be able to get a place of their own, so that they have a quiet, peaceful place during Ariel’s healing process.
Through this journey, we want to walk with Ariel and Cindy, and bless them in an abundance in the way that they have blessed so many. Our goal is to raise at least $25,000 for medical and living expenses. If they have blessed you in any way or if you have ever been blessed and want to give back, please rise and stand with us in supporting Ariel and Cindy.
