It's with great sorrow we announce Ariel’s passing on October 15th after a six-month battle

with inoperable cancer. It came as a shock since he had been doing quite well.
His condition declined quickly after Yom Kippur. He passed away just a few days
later during his favorite holiday, Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles), when all Israel was remembering the
temporary nature of our earthly dwelling.

Burial in Israel usually happens within 24 hours of death. His body was “laid to rest” in a permanent home in the Land; the Jewish way without a coffin, wrapped in a sheet…dust to dust. Though announced at the last minute, friends brought songs and stories and reminisced amidst tears and joy.
I’m so sorry we haven't kept you updated as we had hoped in the beginning, but life kept happening
with three moves in the meantime.

I'm fighting exhaustion as things have moved rapidly the last 2 weeks with almost no down time.
A local celebration of Ariel’s life will take place tomorrow, October 30, in our neighborhood community center where we've lived and worked the last 7 years. It will be recorded to share with you soon.

We plan to make a memorial webpage where people can share memories via text, video, or voice messages.

Thank you for accompanying us on the journey, it’s been a great comfort and encouragement.

Please remember to pray especially for his sons Joshua, Ian, and Jason who were unable to attend the last minute arrangements.

I've purchased a RT ticket to Florida Nov 25 - Dec 30 to spend with family, many of which we have not seen in 4 years. It's hard to imagine he won't be making this trip, it's all quite surreal.

I will return to Israel after the Florida visit.

With much love and gratitude,

Cindy Cook & Friend

Warm greetings to Friends of Ariel & Cindy.

We'd like to keep you posted about their progress once a month by this update. We'll also try to post more regularly on the GoGetFunding page. Feel free to share their story or unsubscribe at any time.
Blessings as we journey forward together.
L'chaim...To Life.Shabbat shalom, so grateful for this day of rest and the time to draw near to ABBA, our sovereign YHVH. Knowing we have the privilege of testifying to the goodness and pure love of the one true living God amid any circumstance is a joyous offering that we can bring. Because He alone is worthy.

For two weeks, we have been pursuing what we thought would be the final move. However several delays prevented the signing of the contract. With our deadline reached, we had run out of time to move. Then a gracious and generous couple offered to subsidize us for three mos in a place to rest overlooking Kinneret. We would not have considered the house as it would have exceeded our supposed budget. However, the night before I was to meet with them, I heard “ no negotiations, this is the price.” Later, when we met instead of walking through as anticipated, we agreed to go to ABBA in prayer. The prayer began with praise, which quickly turned into worship, which was significantly confirmed by the tangible presence of He who first loved us.

During this compression of love and peace, the sponsor willingly confessed that the price had changed and was indeed the amount that I had heard previously — such a welcome confirmation.
In this environment, nothing else mattered than to worship Him, knowing that He Who created all things had stooped so low as to reveal His plan, which included us. Hallelujah. Seated together with Him in heavenly places. With the deadline met, we have begun the move and expect Him to unfold the next steps soon. And we are looking forward to a place of rest for the next three mos. So grateful to hear His will and walk in it.

Recently, I have been asked why there was so much disappointment involved. As I consider His call to be His witnesses, without a challenge to His truth, there would be no need for witnesses. So we are useful and therefore have value in that regardless of disappointment or apparent contradiction to His promises, we can confess that although we are faithless yet He abides faithful as He cannot lie, and everything He does is in love for our ultimate good.

Thank you so very much for the concerted prayer, support, and love that has helped bring this to pass.

An UPDATE from Ariel:

Dear Loved Ones,

Your generosity means so much to us! Some fundamental tasks are taking much longer for me (Ariel) than they used to. We are working at relocating and finding our own flat after 68+ moves in and around Poriya Illit. Not having our own space and constantly searching thru boxes to find supplies or clothes is exhausting as well as trying to remember from season to season where things are stored. It seems so important as this journey has been much harder on Cindy than on me. For her sake, I hope that the end is in sight; this is a great need of prayer, that we would know and walk in ABBA's will. In the Tiberias area prices fluctuate considerably, and we have lived in Poriya Illit the whole time we have been here, and believe we are here because God has placed us in this community even though the prices are much higher.

A couple of weeks ago, the doctor who was directing my treatment, died unexpectedly.

We have tried thru research and trips to agencies, to connect with a doctor who will offer alternative medicine; however, we have been unsuccessful. Our medical insurance will only pay for chemotherapy, and my reaction to the chemo in the initial tests was severe, so much that I am not able to function mentally with it. So, we are trying to continue with two protocols as recommended by the Cancer Institute and the doctor who died. I try to keep on schedule with the equipment, and Cindy works on the juicing and supplements. But she is stretched.

My Sons and I talk for long periods, and our communication is excellent, sometimes we get to pray. They are willing to come to visit, but it is impractical and not needed for now.

My focus is to hear His voice and follow while giving him all the glory and honor, for He alone is worthy. And I want to remain a faithful witness. There is so much to come.

I much appreciate all that you have done, prayers, support, and a listening ear of faithful brothers and sisters. Love you all so very much
