On June 7, 2015 our team the Walking Warriors will be participating in an annual event with the Midwest TS Allinace called "Step Forward for a Cure".
In February 2009, my son Ian was transported three hours to Minneapolis Children's Hospital after having a seizure. After a brain MRI, it was confirmed that my son had 3 brain tumors, he also underwent further testing and found that he has a heart tumor and large cysts in the kidney and 2 small tumors. The diagnosis was Tuberous Sclerosis Complex. A rare genetic disorder that causes tumors, epilepsy, autism and various other conditions that can affect mental/behavioural health and physical. There is no cure.
Tuberous Sclerosis Complex affects approximentaly 1 in 6,000 births. It is considered to be rare.
Please support our Walking Warriors team on June 7th as we walk to raise awareness, but to also raise money for research to find a cure.
Thank you!
