Walking for Peterborough Samaritans

On June 14th 2014, Jenny, Peter and Mark will be walking 16 miles at the annual Samaritans walk to raise much needed funds for Peterborough Samaritans. We'll be walking in the beautiful countryside of the South Downs. As many of you may recall, we participated in the 2012 walk held in Yorkshire, whereby we got lost and a 13 mile walk turned into a 21 mile trek! So you'll think us mad for taking on another. This year we come more prepared - in that, we've bought a map!

We will be raising money for Peterborough Samaritans - a charity that is very close to our hearts. Samaritans is a national charity which offers 24 hour confidential emotional support to anyone who is in distress or experiencing thoughts of suicide. Samaritans can be contacted in a number of ways - via phone, email, text, letter and face to face visits. Please see their website - www.samaritans.org - for more details. Samaritans volunteers are ordinary people from all walks of life who understand that there are sometimes things that you just cannot talk about to the people around you and that very often, with some time and space, people are able to find their own solution within themselves.
