Walking for Jackie`s Dropin Center

Jackie's Drop-In Centre is an award winning centre for adults with disabilities run solely by volunteers, they are currently based at St Michael's House, Norton Way South, Letchworth Garden City. They started with only 6 services users and now have over 200+ users thorough word of mouth with no direct advertising with users visiting there centre from all over Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.

At Jackie's they offer a safe and relaxed environment where adults with disabilities of various ages can come and meet with friends new and old and participate it various activities such as arts and crafts, pool/snooker, gaming rooms, internet enabled computers, beauty treatments, day trips out, third party hate crime reporting hub and free courses throughout the year all for just a £1.50 entrance fee.

Due to the ever growing demand for their service they will be locating to a larger premises.

With the move to a larger premises they aim to double their service and to help many more adults with disabilities by advertising to 30,000 home within our local community and to raise considerable awareness.

They are a purely self funded centre, and receive no public or government funding and they are also a registered charity [1157193].

Them and their service users would be very grateful for any donations made, fundraising so they can complete the project and to ensure many more adults with disabilities have somewhere to go where they can feel safe and relaxed and to develop their social skills and confidence and to beat social isolation.

Jackie's Drop-In Centre plays an essential resource within the disabled community with people traveling up to 30 miles to use their unique centre, if they can't meet the funds for the project they will have to close their service which will have a detrimental and lasting effect to their service users.
