On 20th February we received the devastating news that we now know many of our own friends and family have heard over the years, that our beautiful mum, wife and nan has cancer.   Two months later we have already learnt a great deal about how she is going to fight and beat this horrible disease, but we also know that she has a long, hard battle ahead and we are all going to be with her every step of the way. Anyone who knows our mum will also know that she is a giver, never a taker!  She has devoted her life to her family and has never been known to put herself before anyone! So now we want to do something for her, something for our mum to look forward to through the tough days, weeks and months ahead, and we need your help! Mum's only two brothers emigrated to Australia back in the 60's, she has seen them no more than a handful of times since and our hope is that we can raise enough money to fly her out to see them again. HOW? We are going to walk from Rugby to Southend-on-Sea, mum's home town!  The walk totals approx. 131 miles and will take place over 7 days in total.  We plan to walk 20 miles per day, finishing with an 11 mile walk to the end of Southend peer.  HOW YOU CAN HELP! We would like our friends and family to get involved in any way they can.  If you are able to make a donation to our cause by sponsoring the walk, if you can spare the time and energy to walk too, whether it be a mile or the whole 131 miles, or if you want to celebrate the end of our journey at the end of the longest peer in the world we want you with us! THANK YOU! We are all so positive about the long term outcome for mum, but for the wonderful, loving, ever-giving person who, when she heard about this said 'I don't feel right asking people to donate just for me' ... if we can all do something, however small, to help make her journey that little bit easier with something to look forward to, we will be forever grateful.
