June 13, 2020

It's been six months since we were discharged from the hospital and it's almost a year from the time of the incident ( June 28, 2019 ). I know this might not be the best time to reach out for help because there are also a lot of people who need help because of the Covid-19 Situation. For the past six months we were able to sustain my dad's medical expenses because of the insurance funds as well as the donations we got from each and everyone of you. However, my family is in dire need of your help once more. We are at an average, spending Php 140,000 for my Dad (Caretakers, Medicines, Food Medical Supplies ).

As much as I have a good and stable job, combined with my family's income , our combined income simply isn't enough to sustain my dad's needs.

We are about to let go of our caregivers / nurses by the end of this month but we will still be short on funding. My brother and my mom will be taking over the nurses' job because we simply cannot afford them anymore. The family is trying its best to obtain additional income through various means to make ends meet.

To be completely honest I was very hesitant to restart this campaign because there has been A LOT of people who gave us support since last year and I wouldnt want to come across as someone who just relies on this to provide for my dad but I am swallowing my pride , as the eldest child and am reaching out to you once again for help.

For those who have given us donations before, the only help I can ask from you is simply sharing my campaign once more. To reach more audiences than we were able to reach before. I am forever indebted to those who supported us financially and I really feel that it would be too much to ask for help from the same set of people again. Im not expecting too much from this round of the campaign again but I'm trying my luck.. Just in case..

After all , I know my dad did as much as he can while we were growing up, so might as well do the same for him to keep him healthy.

Thank you and Keep Safe! Stay Healthy!

Update

December 16 2019

Unfortunately, we are confined in the hospital once more. Dad's BP dropped to 70/60 early morning. As of this writing, he is recommended to be placed in the ICU once more. Tests are currently ongoing to see what could have caused it and what other complications might be out there... I know it wasnt too long since almost everyone we know joined forces to help us get through this financial ordeal but I am once again, knocking on your doors to ask for your support. We have ample amount of funding on hand but as our coverages for insurance and HMOs are maxed out, we are unsure how long this will last. My mom has actively been getting in touch rigorously with government agencies to ask for assistance but as you may know, these things take a while.. Any amount of help is highly appreciated and would go a long long way...

Please continue to pray for Dad.. Thank you and Happy Holidays!

My name is James. I am the eldest son of my Dad Alex and my Mom Joy. You can look me up in facebook : James Matthew Aguilar. I am humbly asking for everyone's help to raise funds for my Dad who is currently in the ICU due to cardiac arrest. Just to give everyone a background on what happened,

My dad and my sister were on their way home from work. Usual Friday with heavy traffic backed up with rain. I received a call from my sister who was clearly in panic saying that my dad had a difficult time breathing , a few minutes later the situation escalated. the whole family was lost and confused , me being at work that time , my mom and my brother at home, all of us receiving frantic calls from my sister. Fastforward to 20 minutes later, my Dad and my sister were already in an ambulance as he already asked for oxygen. Usually my dad doesnt want to go to hospitals so hearing this made me think that this is already serious. After 10 minutes everyone was in shock as my sister tells my mom that our dad is being revived. in no less than 60 minutes, the clan was practically at the emergency room. Me being lost and in doubt , went straight to the doctors in charge to see what was going on. There was a sigh of relief when I saw dad on the bed, twitching, with tubes attached to him. Right then there and then I thought , at least he is alive. I'll worry about the specifics later on.

SNYOPSIS

My Dad, Alexander Aguilar, suffered a heart attack. His 2nd to be exact.

He has been unconscious for 11 days as of this writing. (July 9, 2019) . We have no idea on how extensive the brain damage was but i guess it did take a toll on him as he is quite unresponsive until now. He was out for more than 10 minutes and doctors say that a lack of oxygen for that long can cause severe brain damage and could be fatal. A lot of complications arose from the cardiac arrest. His lungs got filled with a liter of water. (This was drained out a couple of days ago though.) His blood sugar and blood pressure was very volatile. On top of that , he already acquired some infections due to the tubes and other procedures done. There is very minimal brain activity as mentioned by the Neurologists. I'm not quite versed with medical terms but I due to the prologned time that the brain did not have oxygen, he is in a light coma as of the moment .

Doctors are planning to do a Traechostomy and adding a peg for feeding sometime this week. Unfortunately ,we have exhausted our HMO coverages and are now in the talks of selling our house. This is to ensure that we have enough funding here in the hospital and when my dad goes home. But we feel that selling the house and letting go of the car would not be enough since we also need to settle family debts brought about by his Bypass 7 years ago.

Our current bill is almost at P 700,000 and this does not include the professional fees from the doctors yet. This is also exclusive of the next few days or weeks that we will be here in the ICU , not to mention the operations and procedures which are lined up. Our average spend each day is at P70,000 that includes the medicines and use of medical equipments.

Our dad needs to wake up.. and when he does , we dont want him to worry about anything anymore so that's why we are taking our chances here. We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to our family, relatives and friends who already helped out but if anyone out there would be able to come across this plea for help, we would greatly appreciate your helping hand. I'm not quite sure yet how this works but we also have BPI, Unionbank and BDO account numbers . Please feel free to reach out to us for any questions
