Waiter’s COVID-19 Relief Fund

Hello everyone. We are waiters working in different restaurants in Pretoria and we came together to make this campaign. It is a plea seeking help from different stakeholders as we are going through a financial crisis during this lockdown period. As waiters working on tips and commission, it is hard to put aside savings. Eating from hand to mouth is the trade of the business.

However, we are grateful for what we normally earn before the pandemic as we could earn a living from it. The problem started before the lockdown as there was less movement from customers which resulted in little or no tips for us. The implementation of the lockdown hit us hard as the restaurants were closed and it affected our income. The world just came crumbling on us with rentals and electricity that was needed to be paid. These past weeks have been a huge struggle and only hope is keeping us sane under these excruciating circumstances.

We are appealing to well-wishers and donors at large to kindly assist us during these difficult times with funds that would enable us to pay our rentals during the lockdown and put food on the table for our wailing families.
