Waggy Resort – Cage Free Dog Boarding

Update posted by Colleen Gonzalez On Sep 26, 2018

We are literally bursting at the seams! We are also restricted as to how many pups we can care for at a time, leaving no choice but to turn a lot of eager clients away. Our family is also growing, and soon we will no longer be able to run the business from our present home. We would like to be able to keep the same "At Home" feel for our furry friends, however in a bigger facility (boarding house). This will mean more costs, more start up supplies, more everything. We are seeking help from everyone to supports us as well as business grants to make this come to life.

So, what now?

Our vision is to become a pillar of support in the community for pet owners, and a non-profit animal care facility

Our love for dogs cannot be quantified, and it's that same love that propelled my family & I to create and run www.waggyresort.com, a small doggy boarding daycare out of our home for 8 years & now www.waggyrescue.com

However, despite our love for shelteringr pups, there is a thin line to what we can achieve, and staying within the confines of federal and state laws as to how much we can do without expanding & creating Waggy Rescue into a non-profit dog shelter. The story of Tammie Hedges comes to mind in this regards. Well, Tammie Hedges is the owner of a non-profit shelter, who was arrested for opening an unlicensed animal shelter for more than two dozen animals during hurricane Florence.

This is where our desire to expand our grounds and our accreditation comes into play. We want to meet all the standards needed to run a nonprofit animal shelter, and for 8 years we've been doing it on our own, but now it's the time to expand and take our services to a whole new level. It is, for this reason, we started a Crowdfunding campaign (LINK HERE) to meet our targets. This campaign is vital not just to us but most especially to the dogs, pups and puppies we cayter for on a daily basis.

For us, failure is not an option, and it is not something we consider because we know we would meet the target with your help. Meeting this goal would guarantee a shelter. We have already have a few spots that are ready to be leased that would be perfect for our business model.

We appreciate everyone's support.

Regards,

The Waggy Resort Family

We appreciate those who have taken the time

to like and share our story. Waggy Resort is the reason we are still

here in Port Saint Lucie area.

To be completely honest, Waggy Resort started out as a hobby of ours 8

years ago because we truly love dog's. We were new to Port Saint Lucie

and never imagined being here this long as we have no family here. We

truly love our furry family and thank you for continued support. YOU are

the reason we are here:-)

Our family sacrifices holidays, weekends and vacations each year. It's

very hard to separate our business from family life as our job is 24-7.

The laws also make it hard on our business to accommodate all our

clients and new customers in our home.

We are not asking everyone to donate, just share our story. We are looking to expand Waggy Resort & Fulfill A Life Long Dream Of Mine

Thanks For Sharing my story!

Sincerely,

Colleen

We want to thank you for taking the time to read our about our cause. At the moment we have suspended our main cause for this funding & redirecting all funds to help the millions that need our help now.

Thank you for all the donations both monetary & Supplies,

Shelters In Savannah Georgia are depleting their food supplies and are overwhelmed. We have partner up with other local shelter & Charities and have managed to to collect over 1500 pounds worth of food, Supplies, water, beds, crates, etc.

We will be renting a U-Haul & my husband Mannie is going to be driving the supplies to Savannah Georgia on Sunday Sept 16th

. It's still not to late to donate.

We are also currently sheltering 3 pups that were dropped off to us a few days ago. We have a hound mix, a cute mutt & what I would call the smallest dog with a pit bull attitude.

Here is how they arrived to us a few days ago.

We truly appreciate every dollar, like and share! Let's keep this going and help these furry babies:-) We will continue to update you on our progress. It takes a Village!

Hi everyone,

We like to thank everyone for their continued support & donations. We have be asked to help with the sheltering of pups displaced from NC & SC. We just received our first pup named Sky this morning.

We will be receiving 4 more from a Georgia Shelter via Transport Van. We are waiting on them now.
We are excited to help these pups in need. There will need new homes and they will not be returning.

We are redirecting all donations to help purchase food, treats, beds, crates, etc to all the pups in our care and in the near shelters. We will have a list of shelters that we are working with and what they are in need of. Money Donations is always the best since it can be used directly to the right cause but any donations at this moment will be greatly appreciated.
