VR Experience: The future of art galleries

We are Mónica Kahlo and Sílvia Raposo and we are the founding sisters of Galerias São Rafael, the first Portuguese virtual gallery, with an international dimension, focused on the multisensory experience.

With the objective of rehabilitating the creative industries by promoting greater efficiency in the use of technological resources, encouraging innovation in the cultural sector and revolutionizing the process of exhibiting artworks, the twin sisters and entrepreneurs Mónica Kahlo and Sílvia Raposo created the São Rafael Galleries A national platform that unites the aesthetic, performative, immersive and philanthropic experience with an intermedia and inter-arts digital concept.

The covid-19 pandemic exponentially accelerated the adoption of digital technology and art had to reinvent itself in a virtual context, but we did not find any sufficiently premium and immersive virtual exhibition experience. Therefore, at São Rafael Galleries, we create immersive experiences from exclusive artworks, which we also sell, by national and international artists, available both in video format and in 360 degree panoramic rooms. Soon, we will launch the VR experience, where we create an exhibition environment in virtual reality using 3D glasses, in a total immersive experience. The aim is to combine the interactivity and immersiveness of museum experiences with the way art is marketed, providing the experience of the total work of art.

Currently operating internationally in Portugal, Chile, Germany, Spain, England and Egypt, the project also aims to promote artists internationally and strengthen international partnerships.

Our competitive advantage: we offer our customers the immersive virtual exhibition experience in augmented reality, with environments diverse, elegantly decorated and premium, with music and 3D lighting, giving a realistic dimension to the works exposed to commercialization, as well as reflections and dialogues with artists about their work and about art.

We currently work with augmented reality and we are raising funds to enhance the immersive experience and introduce virtual reality. For this reason, we invite them to join us in the experience of the immersive virtual exhibition and to contribute to a dynamization of the individual's emotional and intellectual fields, as well as to look at culture and its artistic dimension in an evolutionary perspective. 10% of the proceeds from the sale of artworks on our platform are destined to philanthropy, because we believe that Art is a human investment.
