Campaign Story
Saving The Giant Panda
For a number of years i have had a great love of pandas. I adopt the two pandas in Edinburgh Zoo and adopt pandas with the WWF. (Below see images of Yung Gunag ; the one eating the bamboo. Tian Tian; sleeping. Both pandas i adopt at Edinburgh Zoo.)
Pandas are close to extinction. Their habitats and homes are being destroyed on a daily basis. Each panda eats on average 35kg on Baboo a day. Pandas get this naturally from forests and when their homes are being destroyed they can't eat the amount they need to which sadly means they can pass away. Pandas can only breed once a year and in that gap there is olny a 35 hour period that it tends to be possible, which is why it is so hard for pandas to breed and why the numbers of pandas are so low.
Scienetists are doing research inot how to increase panda numbers and how to have more effective ways of breeding such as artificial insemination.
I want to raise money to live my dream. I want to volunteer for 2 weeks in a Panda Reserve in China where they look after pandas of all ages and do research inot how to save the pandas. I also plan to take over some money as a donation towards the reserve to help fund more scientific research into how to save these beautiful animals.
