Volunteering trip to SE Asia

3 years ago I came up with an idea, to travel southeast Asia after finishing high school, to gain and better understanding of the cultural difference and throughout the trip improve myself as a human being. though my goal may seem a bit selfish - I am the only one directly benefiting from your support. However my main goal is to work in different villages and offer my help to locals and it doe snot matter if it is building bridges, shelters for homeless, work in farms or even teaching the children English. Because this is the help I can provide, and believe it to give me the experience I want while also being a benefit to those around me , since being only a tourist does not make lives of the poor any easier.


About me:

Since I was a kid, I always wanted to watch animal planet rather than cartoon network. My mother told me that even in children garden I have spent hours looking through the fence into the unknown fields until I summoned up my courage to climb over it and find out what lies beyond the fence, luckily I could not manage to wander too far. So this desire to travel is within my blood.


Perfect case scenario:

According to plan I am willing to spend at least one month in every country. My start would be in my little home country Lithuania where I would take off in 2 of May and land in Myanmar (with few connecting flights), afterwards Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and last but not least Laos. But with insufficient funds I will be forced to put an end to it.


Why does your money matter?

Money means freedom, but in this case it is not only freedom, it is also time. The more you invest, the more time I will be able to stay there, visit more villages, and hopefully make a positive impact to people lives. Any donation would mean a lot.


Where does your money go?

Biggest expense is the flights it will be around 800€ and 250€ within these countries. Visas will cost around 150€. I couldn't do anything without my health so vaccines and health insurance will add up with around 400€. Since it's not vacation on the beach I will travel cheaply and try to fit into 10€ a day.
