Campaign Story
On the 1st February, 2016 I will begin a 3 month long volunteering placement at a Rural Community Development project in Bodhgaya, India. This project is run by the Bodhi Tree Educational Foundation. I want to start by thanking you for visiting this campaign and by stressing that I am NOT asking for donations in order to pay for my own personal expenses i.e. flights, volunteering costs etc. My expenses are something I will 100% be paying for myself and the money raised from this campaign will go directly to the foundation.
The Bodhi Tree Educational Foundation is a Non for Profit Organisation that supports and assists in developing varied educational programs for children and their families in the villages of and around Bodhgaya and Northern India. With my Occupational Therapy and Mental Health background I am hoping to work in the school they have developed for children living with a disability and to promote mental health. However I have not limited myself to this as I believe there are so many ways I can help make a difference with my time in Bodhgaya. I am looking forward to becoming part of and making a difference in a number of different ways within these communities.
However, because the Bodhi Tree Educational Foundation is Non for Profit Organisation, I am creating this fundraising campaign in order to raise money to give directly to the foundation to assist them, even in a small way, to keep this amazing project running and to help them to continue to make direct and lasting beneficial changes in the lives of numerous children and their families. I want to take the time to thank any of you in advance for any donations given, it will be greatly appreciated. This is a truly life changing experience and I cannot wait to begin my volunteering adventure with this incredible foundation.
