Hello everyone :)
In June I will be headed to Bali to volunteer with International Volunteer hq. I will be taking part in the sea turtle conservation program as well as teaching english to local children. The area I will be staying at is the non-touristy island of Nusa Penida, subsequently I expect teaching there will require a lot of improvisation as well as many challenges due to lack of resources and appropriate school supplies.
As many of you know I am passionate about equality and have extensively contributed to my community over the years through volunteering at various different organizations. Futhermore, through my previous travels I have developed an urge to give back to local communities through volunteering overseas. In June I will be headed to Bali to volunteer with International Volunteer hq. I will be taking part in the sea turtle conservation program as well as teaching english to local children. The area I will be staying at is the non-touristy island of Nusa Penida, subsequently I expect teaching there will require a lot of improvisation as well as many challenges due to lack of resources and appropriate school supplies.
While I wanted to volunteer abroad, I was uncertain of how to do so on my own. After looking up volunteering abroad I realized that it is very difficult for non-locals to distinguish placements in areas that are in most need. International Volunteer HQ was recommended to me by a friend who had a great experience with the organization. I am looking for help to cover the program fees of the organization.
I feel incredibly excited to begin my work in Bali and am eager to teach the children new skills that will enhance their ability to communicate and broaden the opportunities available to them in the future. I believe that we can empower people through education and I am more than happy to be a part of that!
