Volunteering in Sri Lankan Hospitals

4 weeks volunteering in Ambalangoda, Sri Lanka

Hi it's Phoebe and Laura and we are first year students studying Children's Nursing at University of Nottingham. We are going to be volunteering in Ambalangoda, Sri Lanka, in April 2018. We will be there for 4 weeks in various hospitals on Paediatric wards and emergency departments. This opportunity will enable us to work with various healthcare professionals from other countries and will widen our knowledge of the service.

We have chosen Sri Lanka to experience health care in a different setting and different cultures. We are going to be lucky enough to participate in one of the world's oldest medical systems; It originated in India more than 3,000 years ago. The PMGY Foundation is a UK registered charity (1169415) that was set up to help provide financial aid and assistance to projects and countries.

We would love to earn money to help pay for the experience but will also donate some of the money to the hospitals in Sri Lanka.
