Its indescribable the amount of appreciation i would feel for anyone who would be willing to donate anything to this trip as it means an awful lot to me and all those trying their hardest to protect this preserved beauty. It will be a life changing experience and make me feel like I'm doing something worthwhile and important for the world- especially the animals that i have such an adoration for. Due to the price tag on this trip finding the funds now is quite difficult. Although I am desperate to go and offer help to this cause which is why I'm seeking out any support that I can. It would be a life long goal off the bucket list, as well as an amazing outcome for any situation I can help.

This unexpected but fully welcomed feeling of wanting to work in a developing country to do some good, has come after thinking that life's too short. I want to be able to do something memorable in my life and while i have only just started becoming immersed into the adult world I know that I have this uncontrollable passion to do something outside of what is expected of me. Ive recently received my A Levels and decided that my developing passion for animals has given me the desire to look at the different forms of animal care such as Zoology.

Animals in the wild are heard a fair amount about in terms of needing help with donations due to nearing extinction of species or other problems. Although, much isn't heard about those going out to developing countries to offered Hands on physical help. It is a very important job, that needs all the support it can get due to the challenging obstacles that may get in the way.

This Plan My Gap Year program is based in South Africa where a group of volunteers( like me) will be taken to work in and around areas populated by wildlife in an effort to make their surrounding the best they can possibly be. Part of the work will be removing alien vegetation that may destruct the path of the more vital plants for the animals. The responsibilities on this trip are vast such as :

" – Animal management including game capture and game counts
– Lion monitoring
– Rhino monitoring
– Educational lectures and classroom activities
– Research facility room
– Planting of indigenous trees
– Re-establishment of vegetation and vegetation management
– Assisting in the care of orphaned cubs
– Fence and anti-poach patrols
– Fence repairs and road maintenance
– Feeding and care of predators
– Feeding and care of elephants"

All jobs that are needed for the upkeep of the beautiful surroundings of South Africa. This opportunity is truly once in a life time and hope that I can contribute in the best way possible, by actually being out there. Although any contributions made are the same as in terms of donations but this way you will be guaranteed the knowledge that your money is being used for these specific tasks.

This hands on experience will teach me things that may not even be able to be taught in a class room and will only lend itself to be a labouring but rewarding experience.

YOU will also have the knowledge that you contributed to a deserving cause.

Thank you for your help and hope to update everyone soon on my discoveries of South Africa and its habitat!

Any money left over from the initial £1,500 will be donated to the program out in South Africa!
