Campaign Story
During my trip through Malaysian Borneo and Madagascar, I will participate in several nature conservation programmes. One of these will be with the KOPEL-MESCOT community initiative along the Kinabatangan river, in the Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary. This is a community-based initiative where locals put effort to protect, conserve and restore the forest and its wildlife. They also organise eco-tours in the area, from which they need the income to facilitate their conservation work.
The tasks I will be doing is highly dependent on what is needed at the time of my stay, but can include planting trees, monitoring wildlife, removing weeds from the river, or trail/eco-tourism maintenance. You can sponsor me in this project! Money collected here will go directly to the project, and will partly cover the costs I need to make to participate in this project.
More information can be found at the website of KOPEL-MESCOT
